[Todd
writes] The Bay of Chamela contains several picturesque islands. A small
bay on Isla Passavera was our destination. The vessel Windward Luv was
anchored there so we were able to get together for a potluck and watch
the sun set behind the island. In the morning after a breakfast of pancakes
shared with Don and Lena we watched Freya anchor near us. They brought
our friends on Calliope with them from the main anchorage for a hike on
Isla Passavera. The attraction is viewing the Blue Footed Boobies that
have made this island their nesting grounds. These birds, unafraid and
curious, will let you come within a few feet of them. They seem as interested
in us as we are them.
The
afternoon found us snorkeling and spearfishing for dinner at a nearby island.
I caught a large clown fish, while Doug's catch included a tasty California
Halibut. They were BBQed that evening aboard Freya for a potluck. These
impromptu potluck meals seem to be a way of life. We just love it.
Our watermaker came in very handy as we made water for Windward Luv. Theirs broke and they had run out of water the night before. It's great to be able to help out fellow cruisers.
