The greasy egg-breakfast sandwiches (if they are still making them) are cheaper, fresher, and hotter than the ones at McDonald's (tm) that have been sitting under the heat lamp for ages.  Although Dunkin' Donuts doesn't have the best donuts in the world, their bagels are quite good - usually very fresh - and they have surprisingly good coffee, hot or iced.  Plus you can't move five feet in Rhode Island without running into one.

Dunkin' Donuts is good for a cheap, quick sugar-fix.  If you go later in the day, you can get your donuts even cheaper.   I must admit that Rhode Island is wearing off on me because I frequent various Dunkin Donut franchises in search of "medium french vanilla iced coffee extra cream extra sugar."
